Resources

Breath of Life 2012 themeInformation on resources to support language revitalization makes up a good deal of OurLanguage content. Resources are organized into five major categories, reflecting the different areas that you should be aware of in planning and managing programs. These are:

The Society and Culture in which the program operates and which the program affects.
Describing the Language using tools of linguistic analysis and documentation.
The Good Ideas needed for for planning and managing revitalization programs.
Establishing effective Teaching and Learning practices, including developing curriculum and lesson plans.
Using Technology Tools, that is, audio-visual equipment, computers, telecommunications, and the Internet.
Each resource category is organized in OurLanguage as a Content Collection, where each collection is a set of individual web pages that can be grouped and organized into sections and subsections, kind of like a book. You’ll see the organization of the collection in a menu that shows in the sidebar on the right.

Every resource has to be marked as belonging to a particular collection. Open one of the collections using the links above or the sidebar menu. When you’re in the collection you want to add to, click on the link marked Add child page. It’s at the bottom of the article on that page. If the resource you want to add falls within the scope of another resource already posted, then navigate to that resource and click the Add child page button from that location.
